A journey through design, technology, painting and visual storytelling
My creative journey started at a young age through art education and guidance from inspiring artists such as Lucila Engels, Ria Houwen and Dinekke van der Geest. Learning traditional techniques, composition and craftsmanship became the foundation for my later exploration of digital creation. My fascination with computers, photography and visual experimentation naturally evolved into graphic design, animation and my years as a VJ, creating immersive visuals and projections for events.
My Background
A Caribbean soul inspired by the beauty, contrasts and nature that surround me, capturing the vibrant colors, sunbeams, rhythms and beauty of island life.
Born and raised in Curaçao, surrounded by palm trees, ocean and Caribbean influences, I developed a deep connection with light, color, nature and the contrasts of island life. With a Curaçaoan father of Surinamese heritage and a Dutch mother, my identity has always been shaped by different cultures and perspectives. After 14 years in the Netherlands for studies and work, I returned to my island and founded a digital design studio Green Media, creating graphic identities, animations, websites and visual experiences. In the years ahead, I plan to focus on creating and developing more artwork.
Art is my space of freedom, where I can let go of structure and explore colors, textures, emotions and ideas beyond the boundaries of my desing work.
My art is an ongoing experiment, driven by intuition rather than rules. I believe abstraction leaves space for imagination, allowing everyone to create their own meaning. Through layers, colors, textures and symbols, I search for a personal visual language that reflects the complexity of our time: the struggle between humanity and the elements, the temporary nature of everything, and the light that can always be found within darkness.
